WNBA Legend Announces Retirement

by Kayla D.

Yesterday morning on the heels of the 30th season kicking off, Tina Charles announced her retirement.

Some of her accolades include: 2010 Rookie of the Year, 2012 MVP, and 8x All-Star. A few months ago she posted vaguely “it’s about that time✌🏽” leaving fans speculating she was talking about retirement then but later went on to play in the Athletes Unlimited league in the offseason and in China afterwards. The thing about Tina is that she’s a Sagittarius Sun and Mercury. If she was ready to retire back in February she would've just come out and said it. Sagittarius Mercury placements do not hold back when they speak. They usually need someone to hold them back okay? And her being a Sagittarius Sun also backs up her words. She means every word she says. She's intentional about what she says and how she says it. This really is goodbye!!

From ESPN: Tina Charles started her WNBA career as the No. 1 pick by the Connecticut Sun in 2010. She came back to Connecticut last season and started 42 games, her last being Sept. 10. Erica Denhoff/Icon Sportswire

I wanted to mention some things I noticed about the chart of her announcement and her (noon) birth chart. Her announcement opened with “It was all a dream. That's the thought that keeps finding me that and deep gratitude.” That's because today’s Mercury in Taurus is close to her Chiron in Cancer. Mercury represents our memory and communication. Chiron represents our deepest wounds. This all means that memories and dreams are strong for her right now. She has been suppressing a lot until today. Her attitude of gratitude will take her far.

The rising sign of the announcement is 28° Taurus. The Sabian Symbols truth degree for that is “A WOMAN IN MIDDLE LIFE STANDS IN RAPT SUDDEN REALIZATION OF FORGOTTEN CHARMS, IN UNEXPECTED RECOVERY OF ROMANCE” First of all, Tina is only 37 relax Sabian Symbols! Secondly I love this so much! It fits her so well. This is her second chance in life. It's time for her to start something new. I hope she finds her new passion. “Dont stop at what you've done. Keep going toward what you still see.”

We love you Tina!!!
